Copy Schedule of Classes Data to New Term - SBVC

Oct/Summer, End Jan/Fall, Beg June/Spring
What must be done before this process is started:
1. All current Curriculum Board Documents must be completed.
2. The term begin and end dates must be built on the RYAT screen in Datatel. Enter ending year in LookUp Box, i.e. 2003
3. Campus Calendar must be built on the CMPC screen, enter ... in LookUp Box. Calendar dates must cover the dates of the new schedule. The campus calendar must be listed on the PID2 screen, (bottom of screen).
Which processes are waiting for this process:
This process must be completed before the schedule building process can begin. (see the Schedule of Classes Timeline)
Once these process has been completed the schedule (section) data is ready and available to begin the schedule building process that each college does to prepare their Schedule of Classes document and prepare their section data for students to register.

Access the SBCP - Section Batch Copy screen in the ST application of Colleague.
The following is an EXAMPLE of how to complete the parameters on the SBCP screen.
1) Enter the term code, i.e. 2002fa, for the new term.
2) Enter "P" for pending in the Default New Status field.
3) Enter "N" in the Create Dup Sections field.
4) Enter "Y" in the Default From Course field.
5) Enter "N" in the Copy Synonym field.
6) Enter "Y" in the Set Meeting Times field.
7) Enter "Y" in the Copy Meeting Places field
8) Enter "N" in the Sched If Conflict field.
9) Enter "Y" in the Copy Instr Info field.
10) Enter "N" in the Copy Cross List field.
11) Enter "C" in the Copy Requisites field.
12) Enter "C" in the Copy Restrictions field.
13) Enter "C" in the Copy Fin/Billing field.
14) Enter "N" in the Copy User Fields.
15) Enter the term code, i.e. 2001fa in the Copy From field.
16) IMPORTANT - Use the Divisions or the Departments field to select the sections to be copied. For CRAFTON HILLS COLLEGE enter a c... to get a resolution screen of CHC Divisions or Departments. For SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE enter a v... to get a resolution screen of Divisions or Departments.
17) Send output to a printer using the printer name for condensed printing, i.e. coccp1_c

If the parameter "Default from Course" is answered "Yes" any sections that are copied where the course has a minimum AND maximum units will have min/max units on the sections. These sections would need to be corrected to have only one value of units in the min field. They will appear on the "Sections Missing Data" Report.

If Copy Cross List is set to "Y" all cross listed sections in the new term should be checked. In the past cross listed sections were linked with the wrong sections. Try running with "Y" after all patches have been loaded (call Brett Noble in Computer Center)
