A phone call or email to the computer center`s appropriate personal - Ramon Carter, Mike Fink, or Tom Collins. |
Which steps must be taken on a computer (Electronic Process): |
Unlocking A User/Record 1) Logon as root 2) ps -u "username"(whatever their name is) 3) You should see 2ksh and 2udt processes running 4) Have them get out of their current process 5) Kill -9 PID# (the udt process PID#) Be very careful to kill the correct process just as you read it!!! If the user is unwilling to Logout you may kill both Ksh and Udt processes. You only have to kill the udt process. More Information: Every one that logs in receives a tty port.(This is when they login to Unix.) |

BE VERY CAREFUL TO KILL THE CORRECT PROCESS JUST AS YOU SEE IT!. You must be logged in as Root or with equal permissions. Only should have to kill the Udt processes. |
