STRENGTHENING EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY

Planning spaces and systems to support first-responder careers and campus safety

Preparing firefighters, public-safety professionals, and emergency medical technicians requires facilities that support instruction, practice, and campus safety. Future facilities plans identify projects at both Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College.

SUPPORTING EMERGENCY RESPONSE AT CRAFTON HILLS COLLEGE

Crafton Hills College’s future plan includes campuswide improvements to the central plant, technology, electrical systems, utilities, and exterior lighting, along with flexible classroom upgrades. These investments could improve the campus systems and instructional environments used by students across the College, including those participating in emergency-response and public-safety programs.

PLANNING FOR PUBLIC SAFETY AT SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE

San Bernardino Valley College’s future plan includes a Campus and Community Resource Hub that could help bridge the identified space gap for Campus Police and the Police Academy by providing expanded and dedicated space for these programs.

The plan also identifies a campus fire-alarm system upgrade and ongoing access-control and security improvements. Together, these projects could strengthen the safety, security, and training environments across Valley College.

INFRASTRUCTURE THAT SUPPORTS OUR COMMUNITY

Campuswide investments in alarms, access control, security, utilities, technology, and other building systems help support safe and functional learning environments for students and employees. Planned improvements at both colleges could strengthen these shared systems alongside program-specific facilities.
