The Reddix Family’s MC3 Journey
A family of five successfully completes the MC3 Program (Multi-Craft Core Curriculum Apprenticeship Readiness Program) hosted by San Bernardino Community College District, EDCT. The MC3 Program is a workforce development training program that prepares students to apply for, enter, and successfully complete building trades courses. The Reddix family includes Tina, Furn, and their three daughters, Candace, Christina, and Charmaine, who all completed the MC3 Program successfully. With the completion of the program, each family member received certification in OSHA 10 Safety and NABTU Certification (North America's Building Trades Unions).
Upon completing the MC3 training program, Tina, Candace, and Christina decided to continue their post-secondary education in the construction building trades. In addition, these family members received stipend incentives for pursuing an educational pathway in the construction industry. Tina's academic plan focused on attending Chaffey College and working toward getting her CAD Drafting Technician Architectural certificate. She is also pursuing her associate degree (AS) in Interior Design, including a course in Architectural Design, Mechanical, and Computer Design. Candace and Christina are pursuing their educational pathway by earning an associate degree (AS) in Real Estate at Chaffey College. They are both anticipated to complete their degrees by the Spring 2024 term.
The construction industry is in high demand and growing in California. This demand will continue to provide unlimited opportunities for construction professionals. For the Reddix family, completing the MC3 training and receiving trade certifications has given them a stronger foundation in construction. Their vision and desire were to open a family business in the construction-related field.
