FOOD/NUTRITION

 

This section includes resources that provide food/nutrition and help find or afford housing.

  • CalFresh (State): Federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy most foods at many markets and food stores. (AKA Food Stamps)
  • Campus Pantries: Each campus site has a pantry that is available to all
  • Nutrition & Wellness Services (SB County): Links to nutrition counseling, nutrition pantry program, etc.
  • Feeding America: Partner with food banks, food pantries, and local food programs to bring food to people facing hunger.
  • Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County: Local pantry/food bank suppliers

HEALTHCARE

 

  • Communicable Disease (SB County): Performs disease surveillance, implements infection control measures, and provides education designed to reduce or manage the rate of infectious diseases that are consistent with California law.
  • Public Health Clinics (SB County):  Provide a wide range of low-cost, confidential health services. Our mission is to protect health, prevent disease, and promote health and well-being. Can help patient to apply for MediCal.
  • HIV/AIDS Services (SB County): Provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services.
  • SMILE (SB County): Assist all ages including foster children, pregnant people, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, homeless individuals and families, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, individuals with chronic diseases, current smokers and tobacco users, rural communities, immigrants and refugees and many more.

MENTAL/BEHAVIORS HEALTH

 

Employee Assistance Program (SBCCD): supports issues concerning behavioral health, well-being, and/or job performance.


Department of Behavioral Health
(SB County): offers urgent care, substance use disorder and recovery services, outpatient clinics, etc.

Windsor Center: In-service mental institution/Crisis Stabilization Unit for more extreme mental health measures.


HOUSING

 

Homeless Partnership (SB County): Provides leadership in creating a comprehensive countywide network of service delivery to the homeless and near homeless families and individuals through facilitating better communication, planning, coordination, and cooperation among all entities that provide services and/or resources for the relief of homelessness in San Bernardino County.

Housing Authority of San Bernardino (HACSB):  Provide rental assistance to prevent homelessness among low-income households. The
affordable rental housing programs we administer provide a critical safety net for households in San Bernardino County

Community Action Partnership: Home Weatherization and Utility Assistance


MATERNAL/CHILDREN

 

Black Infant Health (SB County): Uses a group-based approach with complementary client-centered case management to help women develop life skills, learn strategies for reducing stress, and build social support.

Perinatal Equity Initiative: Seeks to expand services to Black mothers to build on the supports provided through the Black Infant Health Program.

Maternal Child & Adolescent Health (MCAH) (SB County):  Improves health outcomes of the county’s women of reproductive age, infants, children, adolescents, and their families

Women, Infants & Children (WIC) (SB County):  Helps expectant families, new parents, infants, and young children get healthy foods, nutrition education, and community resources. Must be Pregnant, Breastfeeding, Had a baby within the last six months, Have a child under the age of five, Experienced a pregnancy loss/termination with a nutrition risk, and meet all other applicable qualifications.

First 5 (SB County): a program for the purpose of promoting, supporting and improving the early development of children from the prenatal stage to 5 years of age, under the guidance of the Children and Families Commission for San Bernardino, and in collaboration with the community and agencies providing services to children.


MISC.

 

CalWORKS (State): Provides equitable access to the services, resources and opportunities families need to increase resilience, achieve economic mobility, and break the cycle of poverty. A welfare program that gives cash aid and services to eligible California families in need.

Department of Aging and Adult Services (SB County): Dedicated to helping seniors and at risk individuals to improve or maintain choice, independence and quality of life.

Veterans Affairs (SB County): Provides multiple benefits available to San Bernardino County veterans.

Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino (LASSB): Empowering communities through equal access to justice, we are dedicated to offering legal education, counsel, and advocacy services for those in need, irrespective of their financial capabilities. 

Inland SoCal United Way: Handful of available resources

Inland Empire Women’s Business Center (IEWBC):  Empower the women of the Inland Empire to become successful and financially independent through entrepreneurship. At every stage of developing and expanding a successful business, the IEWBC is there to counsel, teach, encourage and inspire!

Community Action Partnership FAMILY DEVELOPMENT | capsbc: Housing Assistance, Financial Education, Disaster Case Management, Tax Assistance
