Dr. Anne L. Viricel, Board Vice Chair

Dr. Anne L. Viricel was appointed to fill a Board of Trustees vacancy in 2015 and then elected to the position in November, 2016. Trustee Viricel has served as Executive Director of the San Bernardino Symphony since September of 2013. In this role, she spends her days creating opportunities for visibility and philanthropy for the region's longest running and most prestigious professional orchestra.
In addition, since 2000, she has been a professor at the University of Redlands School of Business where she specializes in quantitative operations and strategy coursework. She is also the Adjunct Liaison at the University, assisting other professional faculty become more effective in the classroom.
Trustee Viricel was appointed to San Bernardino Community College Board of Trustees in 2015, then elected in 2016. In this role, her focus is on improving operational efficiencies and increasing student opportunities.
Trustee Viricel is also an author, having published dozens of academic and industry articles and, most recently, collaborated on the autobiography of Dr. Margaret Hill. She is a current board member of The San Bernardino County Natural History Museum and the County’s Arts Connection. She is also an active member of the American Association of University Women, the Bonnes Meres Auxiliary of the Children's Fund, and the Assistance League.
Her recent awards include Assembly District 40 City of Highland Woman of the Year, League of Women Voters Citizen of Achievement Award, the University of Redlands Excellence in Teaching Award, the Black Culture Foundation's Black Rose Award, and she was named a Woman of Distinction by Senator Mike Morrell for both the cities of Highland and San Bernardino.
