Nelva Ruiz-Martinez, Student Trustee
Nelva Ruiz-Martinez is a dedicated advocate for education, affordable housing, community development, and small businesses. She has been elected to serve two terms as the Associated Student Government President at SBVC since 2022 and is the 1st student Ambassador for SBCCD working closely with dual-enrolled students and the community. Nelva graduated in 2023 from San Bernardino Valley College with 3 associate degrees and was admitted to UCLA. In March 2023, she became the Legislative Affairs Director for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) Board of Directors, representing the 9th Region. Nelva is also a member of the Board of Directors for HCSB and serves on various San Bernardino Community College District committees. Her commitment to education and community engagement drives positive change for the region!
