Dyami Ruiz-Martinez is a member of the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees. He is currently a student at San Bernardino Valley College, where he is completing prerequisites for graduate school and taking professional development courses in business. Previously, Ruiz-Martinez served as the Executive Vice President of the SBVC Associated Student Government and as the Chair of the SBVC Inter-Club Council. In March 2023, he was elected to the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) Board of Directors, representing the 9th Region, which consists of 12 community colleges in the Inland Empire area.

During his time at SBVC, Ruiz-Martinez has actively participated in various campus and shared governance committees, including Curriculum, Policies and Procedures Advisory, and District Enrollment Management Advisory. As a leader, he strongly advocates for the expansion of affordable housing, addressing student basic needs, and eliminating barriers for community college students. In his previous role as Inter-Club Council Chair, Ruiz-Martinez successfully reallocated funds to increase available resources for student organizations. As a result of his efforts, San Bernardino Valley College witnessed significant growth, with the number of active student clubs increasing from less than 10 to over 20.

Dyami Ruiz-Martinez earned an Associate's degree in Political Science from Mt. San Antonio College. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine, with bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and Political Science. Additionally, as a professional, Ruiz-Martinez holds a California Real Estate Broker License.
